Terms

Working terms summary

This page is a plain-language summary of how I typically work on project-based and retainer engagements. Final terms are provided in the proposal or agreement and may be adjusted by mutual agreement.

Last updated: January 2026

Quick summary

  • Confidential by default. NDA-friendly if needed.
  • Project-based work: starts with a 5-hour prepaid kickoff block.
  • Retainers: billed monthly in advance, include reserved capacity and priority turnaround.
  • Rush work: may be billed at a +50% premium if needed in under ~3 business days or outside regular hours.
  • Deliverables: final PPTX plus select assets as agreed (not every working file by default).
  • Paused projects: if feedback/inputs are not received for 14 days, I may invoice for work completed to date.

Project-based (hourly) terms

  • Hourly billing: time is tracked and billed based on time spent.
  • Kickoff: projects start with a 5-hour prepaid block to reserve time and begin work. This is credited toward the final invoice.
  • Invoicing: after kickoff, invoices are typically sent upon approval of delivered work.
  • Paused work: if a project pauses due to missing feedback/inputs for 14 calendar days, I may invoice for work completed to date. Work resumes after confirmation and payment of any outstanding invoices.
  • Turnaround: estimated turnaround depends on scope and capacity (I’ll provide an ETA once I review materials).

Monthly retainer terms

  • Billed monthly in advance for reserved capacity.
  • Priority access: retainer clients are scheduled ahead of project-based work.
  • No rush fees for updates and iterations within plan scope.
  • Flexible usage: hours can be used for concept, design, animation, and presentation consulting.
  • Active requests: your plan may limit how many requests can be active at once to keep delivery fast.
  • Rollover: up to 10% of unused hours may roll over to the next month, then expire.
  • Overage: excess hours are billed at the standard hourly rate unless otherwise agreed.

Rush work and turnaround

I do my best to accommodate urgent needs, but rush work depends on capacity and existing commitments. If a request qualifies as rush, I will confirm before starting.

  • Rush premium: +50% may apply for deadlines under ~3 business days or work outside regular hours.
  • Retainer priority: retainers receive first priority on the calendar.

Files and assets

  • Deliverables: final PPTX plus select assets as agreed.
  • Editable assets: when I create custom icons or flat illustrations, I build them as editable vectors whenever possible.
  • Third-party assets: any fonts, photos, icons, or other licensed assets remain subject to their licenses.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is standard. I treat your decks, metrics, drafts, and internal materials as private. I’m happy to sign an NDA if needed.
